Artist Statement
살아있다는 건 어떤 의미일까?
나는 소프트웨어와 기계를 결합해 이형(異形)의 환상 생명체를 빚어낸다. 이들은 겉으로 완벽해 보일지라도, 그 내면에는 인간의 불완전함과 유한성이 지닌 고유한 아름다움을 품고 있다. 어린 시절 반려동물을 통해 목격한 생명의 덧없음은 디지털 세계 속 ‘불완전한 생명력’에 대한 탐구로 이어졌다. 유기적 신체와 기술의 경계에 있는 이 합성 생명체들로 기술 시대의 인간다움이란 무엇이며, 우리는 어디로 나아가고 있는지 묻는다.

What does it mean to be alive?
I create atypical, fantastical creatures by merging software with machinery. While these beings may appear seamless, they embody the unique beauty found in human imperfection and finitude. Rooted in a childhood realization of life’s transience, my work explores a "vitality of flaw" within the digital realm. Navigating the boundaries between the organic and the technological, these synthetic entities pose a fundamental question about humanity in the age of post-humanism: Where do we come from, and where are we going?
